Vision Casting: Clarify Your Vision

The planter has to develop a clear (the core group can repeat it) and compelling (it moves people to action) vision. The planter has to have bi-focal vision. He needs to know the next three steps the church needs to take (near) and where God would want the church to be three years from now (far). You start with mission. You dream about your preferred future. You clarify by identifying your core values. This comes as the result of intentional prayer and planning (Eph 3:20). Dream big!

Building Your Teams

Now that you have a clear and compelling vision, you need to work hard at creating ownership for it. Most church plants need three support teams:

Prayer Team
Barnabas Team (pastor advocates)
Funding Team

The planter also needs a startup team who will get in the raft with him and navigate the white water of church planting. Most healthy plants have a missional core of ten families.
